FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
General
What is a TriCampo vehicle?
TriCampo is a three-wheel electric vehicle (electric tricycle) designed for daily commuting, cargo and delivery, farm and utility work, and compact urban transportation. It combines the stability of a small vehicle with the efficiency and lower operating costs of an electric drivetrain.
What models do you offer?
We currently offer the Ranger X8 and X8+ for utility and cargo-focused use, and the Cruiser X5 as a compact and versatile option. Each model can be configured with different battery and customization options.
Battery and Performance
What is the typical driving range?
With a lead-acid battery, the typical range is about 40–60 miles. With a lithium battery, the typical range is about 60–90+ miles. Actual range will vary based on payload, terrain, speed, and driving habits.
How long does charging take?
Lead-acid batteries typically take about 6–8 hours to fully charge. Lithium batteries typically take about 4–6 hours. Charging uses a standard 110V household outlet.
What is the top speed?
Standard models typically reach around 25–35 mph, depending on configuration. Models that are set up to comply with Low Speed Vehicle (LSV) regulations are limited to 25 mph.
Can I upgrade the battery later?
Yes. You can upgrade from lead-acid to lithium or replace battery packs as needed. Availability and cost will depend on your model and configuration.
Usage and Capability
How much weight can it carry?
Depending on the model and configuration, TriCampo vehicles can typically carry around 500–800 pounds of cargo. This makes them ideal for moving tools, supplies, goods, and equipment.
Can it be used for business or delivery?
Yes. Many customers use TriCampo vehicles for food delivery, local logistics, mobile services, and campus or warehouse transport. The compact size and electric powertrain make them well-suited for short-distance commercial use.
Can it be converted into a camper or shelter?
Yes. We support custom configurations such as cargo box conversions, roof tent setups, and mobile shelter designs. These are great for mobile living concepts or special-use programs.
Legal and Compliance (California)
Do I need a driver ’s license?
In most cases, a valid driver’s license is required to operate a TriCampo vehicle on public roads. Requirements may vary by jurisdiction, so please check your local regulations.
Does it require registration or insurance?
For public road use, registration and insurance may be required, similar to other low-speed vehicles. For use on private property or farms, registration and insurance are typically not required. We can help guide you based on how and where you plan to use the vehicle.
Maintenance and Support
Is it easy to maintain?
Yes. Electric vehicles have fewer moving parts than traditional gas vehicles. There is no engine oil and fewer wear components, which generally means lower maintenance needs and costs.
Do you provide parts and service?
Yes. We offer spare parts, technical support, and service options depending on your location. We can also work with partner dealers and service centers to support your vehicle.
Is there a warranty?
Yes. TriCampo vehicles include a standard vehicle warranty, and battery warranties vary depending on the battery type and configuration. Detailed warranty terms are available at the time of purchase.
Safety and Conditions
Can it be used in the rain?
Yes. TriCampo vehicles are designed to be used in typical weather conditions, including rain. However, you should avoid deep water and drive with extra care in heavy rain. Enclosed or cabin-style models provide additional weather protection.
Customization
Can I customize my TriCampo vehicle?
Yes. Available options may include color, cargo boxes, roof and tent systems, business branding, and special-purpose configurations. Customization options can vary by model.
